Letter: Briefly

Your coverage of Labour's first 100 days ("The first glorious 100..." 3 August) should have included the views of ordinary people who voted Labour on 1 May. As a rank-and-file Labour voter, I voted for more money to the NHS and education. I did not vote for tuition fees for students, more bashing of teachers and single-parent families, or more arms to Indonesia. Nor, in particular, did I vote for a business-friendly government. We have just had 18 years of that. What we want is an ordinary- person-friendly government. One wonders, as he holidays in Italy, how much Tony Blair knows about that?
