Moment crying nun who knew Pope Francis is allowed to break protocol at coffin of late pontiff
This is the moment a crying nun who knew Pope Francis was allowed to break protocol at the coffin of the late Pontiff.
French-Argentine nun, Sister Genevieve Jeanningros, was captured on footage approaching a restricted area to pray before the late Pontiff’s coffin at St Peter’s Basilica.
The area is traditionally reserved for cardinals, bishops and priests, but Sister Jeanningros was allowed in due to the close friendship she shared with the Pope Francis.
Footage shows the 81-year-old crying as she brings her hands to her face and wipes her eyes with a tissue.
