Brendan Rodgers has made numerous changes to his squad this summer and Liverpool fans had the chance to catch a first glimpse of them at a friendly in Bangkok.
The Reds eventually beat the Thai Premier League All-Stars 4-0 thanks to goals from Lazar Markovic, Mamadou Sakho, Adam Lallana and Divock Origi - newly-appointed captain Jordan Henderson also provided two assists.
FIRST HALF XI
Adam Bogdan: 6
Untroubled, but provided decent enough distribution to his team-mates. Bigger tests are to come for the Hungarian, who may yet challenge Simon Mignolet for the number one spot.
Joe Gomez: 7
Lively early on and always eager to get forward, the 18-year-old was a constant menace for his opposite number. However, he coped well when on the back foot too.
Kolo Toure: 6
Largely untested, solid if not unspectacular, which is precisely what Liverpool will expect from their fourth choice centre back. Important for the veteran to get minutes under his belt.
Mamadou Sakho: 7
Given plenty of time to pick his passes, which the Frenchman did time and again, bridging the gap between defence and attack. The Frenchman's physicality gave him the edge and he duly headed home unmarked at the back post for Liverpool's second.
Andre Wisdom: 6
Playing out of position, the 22-year-old was often a peripheral figure as the team's attacking width was provided by Gomez on the opposite flank. Must improve if he hopes to command a place in Liverpool's squad.
Lucas Leiva: 6
Showed several nice touches and produced a couple of incisive passes but was also guilty of sloppiness in possession, which allowed the All Stars to launch a counter attack. Did his best to organise those around him.
Jordan Rossiter: 7
The midfielder was unselfish when he got in behind after a great run, but Ings misused the youngster's pass. Should have scored after another burst forward, but he could direct his header straight into the reaches of the goalkeeper.
Joao Carlos Teixeira: 7
Will have given his manager food for thought. The Portuguese's drive and vision led to Markovic's opening goal. With the Thais allowing him plenty of space, the midfielder took advantage with ease.
Lazar Markovic: 7
The Serbian showed a composed touch and finish for the opening goal, which set the tone for proceedings early on. Stretched the opposition with his incisive passes.
Danny Ings: 6
The striker showed glimpses of quality but missed a glorious chance to score on his debut and also had an effort chalked off after Sakho fouled the goalkeeper.
Rickie Lambert: 6
Worked hard up top, but made minimal impact. Still doesn't seem to command a solid understanding with those around him.
SECOND HALF XI
Simon Mignolet: 5
The Belgian could have sat in the stands and proceedings would have played out in precisely the same fashion. Did little other than get wet, bar one save.
Nathaniel Clyne: 7
The debutant combined well with Ibe on the right flank. The England international was not afraid to get forward and posed a threat every time he entered the final third. Glen Johnson's spell at the club will surely be eclipsed in the near future.
Martin Skrtel: 6
Fresh from signing his new deal, the 30-year-old will be expected to be a leader next season, but had few opportunities to improve his reputation here.
Dejan Lovren: 6
Things can only get better for the Croatian after a disastrous debut campaign at the club. He will need to produce some stellar displays during this tour if he is to become a regular starter. Question marks remain.
Joe Maguire: 6
The 19-year-old certainly did not look like the least experienced player on the park. Comfortable on the ball, he pressed forward when he could and produced one cracking ball across the face of goal that Origi couldn't convert.
Joe Allen: 6
The Welsh midfielder passed the ball well but, as is often the case, lacked a real presence in the centre of the pitch. Cautioned for a cynical foul that thwarted a Thai attack.
Jordan Henderson: 8
The new captain had the bit between his teeth from kick off. He led by example, displayed plenty of urgency, provided an assist for two goals - including a delightful rabona - and was inches away from a delicious lob after catching the goalkeeper off guard.
James Milner: 7
Having been handed the central berth that he craved, Milner didn't disappoint. The 29-year-old didn't run through any walls, but he provided plenty of energy and nous for Rodgers' side.
Jordon Ibe: 7
The 19-year-old combined well with Clyne on the right flank and, if a similar level of performances continue, he won't be sent on loan this season.
Adam Lallana: 8
The Englishman provided several encouraging bursts forward, which were too much for his marker at times. Shifted the ball onto his left foot well, which allowed him to convert his side's third goal. Interchanged with Henderson effortlessly.
Divock Origi: 7
The striker hit the post twice but finally found the back of the net late on with a commanding header. The youngster is undoubtedly raw, but looks to be a real talent. His finishing needs work.
