Football: Cameroon to play 16 year old
Salomon Olembe is poised to become the youngest player to appear at Wembley in a full international when Cameroon take on England in today's friendly.
Olembe, who will be 17 on 8 December, has been told he will definitely make an appearance for Cameroon - probably as a substitute.
The young midfielder, who plays for French First Division club Nantes, said yesterday: "It's a honour. Wembley is a legendary place and seeing it at first hand confirmed my impression. I think the pitch is excellent." It will be a second international appearance for Olembe, who scored on his debut.
The Cameroon striker Patrick Mboma has scored 10 goals in his 11 internationals, but feels that England are favourites. Mboma, who plays his club football in Japan, said: "We are 11 players against 11 players so we will try to win. But I think it's 70-30 for England. The English national team is very strong. The last time I saw them was against Italy recently and they played very good football."
