Lego, the Danish toy group, has chosen Carlsbad in southern California for a 40-acre, dollars 100m ( pounds 68m) theme park. It is expected to open by 1999, attracting 1.8 million visitors a year. Lego already has plans for a UK park in Windsor, Berks.
