Amy Winehouse has cancelled her British comeback gig, following reports of ill health.

A statement from the 25-year-old singer's management said it "regretfully" announced Winehouse and her band would no longer be performing at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on Sunday, 31 May.

The statement said: "Amy would like to apologise to her fans who bought tickets."

It said refunds will be issued at point of purchase.

The announcement follows reports the star was taken to hospital in St Lucia last week, complaining of chest pains.

The Rehab singer - who has been staying on the Caribbean island while working on her third album - was said to have been admitted to a ward last Friday after fainting, and later released.
