Carrie Fisher gave cow tongue to producer after he was accused of sexually assaulting her friend
Star Wars?actress apparently visited the producer in person after the incident to issue a warning
Carrie Fisher continues to be a total badass even after her death.
A friend of the late actress, author and producer recently told of an incident where she allegedly received inappropriate advances from a Hollywood producer.
Heather Ross claimed she was assaulted by an "Oscar-winning producer" - not Harvey Weinstein - she clarified, but another, around 1999.
She was speaking on a local Arizona radio station - 94.9's 'Morning Mix' - about the pervasiveness of sexual harassment in the film industry.
Ross claimed that a producer picked her up in his car after they agreed to meet to talk about her involvement in his latest project.
He then reportedly made an excuse to pull over, reached over her to recline the passenger seat, and pushed himself on top of her.
Once she had recovered from the initial fear and shock, Ross went to Fisher for advice. Fisher made it very clear how she felt about that sort of behaviour - apparently hand-delivering the producer a gift-wrapped message.
"It was a cow tongue from Jerry's Famous Deli with a note that said: 'If you ever touch my darling Heather or any woman again, the next delivery will be something of yours in a much smaller box'," Ross said.
Fisher reportedly made sure to deliver the box in person and watch the producer as he opened it.
"That's just how she was," Ross said. "I miss her dearly. She stood up for people... she put things out there and in your face."
Importantly Ross also explained how she thought she was "protected" by not fitting Hollywood's standards of beauty - but her story confirms what most women know - and what an op-ed by The Big Bang Theory actress Mayim Bialik was criticised for ignoring: sexual assault happens to all women.
